STORY

Gajah Mada (c. 1290 – c. 1364) was, according to Javanese old manuscripts, poems and mythology, a powerful military leader and mahapatih or prime minister of the Majapahit Empire, credited with bringing the empire to its peak of glory, He delivered an oath called Sumpah Palapa. Until today his sworn oath is still remembered and engraved in the heart of Indonesians that comes after him. the humble warrior finally completed the legendary oath of Sumpah Palapa, regardless of the doubts and obstacles that he faced with bravery and hard sacrifices. His immeasurable effort finally united Nusantara, which was bigger than Indonesia as it is today. These territories include Malayan region (Malaysia and Singapore), Sumatera, Java, Borneo, Celebes, Sunda, Bali, Maluku, Papua New Guinea, up to the Northern Territory of Australia, Darwin. His hardship, visions and determinations became the very reason to why Gajah Mada is such an influential figure. He may not be the king of his time, but he is forever carved in the soul of Indonesians as a hero that accomplished the impossible task of uniting world’s largest archipelago across cultures and language barriers.
